Lighting
I want to know a lot about Lighting, how it works, why it works and how can we make it better. I was looking forward to my lighting class last week even after my first experience wasn’t very good but i was excited this time. It was a really confusing class, i understood the process which was all rigg the bar and then focus. But names came up and i didn’t know what it was, no one explained it to me until i had to ask. I found i was learning more from my peers than the tutor, to busy on there phone fixing there on situation. There were also to many of my fellow class mates for it to be effective and when it came onto focusing it was slow and boring. Still not keen on going up heights but i didn’t need to do it to focus, i got a FOH light to focus. It was good to practice a bit more. Still feel i want to learn about lighting but my experience haven’t been good but i want to know everything i can about technical theatre.

Hi Scott
Good to see you blogging again… Sorry to hear about your experience with LX. I remember when I started at the Academy, I had no idea how to run a class and it took a while to get the hang of it… PLX will all fall into place shortly (as soon as a lecturer is appointed). You still have loads of time to learn about LX, especially when you start your production work in a few weeks.
Keep blogging…it’s good for you!
